Day 1 - City tour - Peter and Paul Fortress - St.Isaac's Cathedral - Lunch (optional) - The Hermitage

Meeting with the guide

City tour. You will get acquainted with the history and modern life of Saint Petersburg. Your local guide will meet you at the lobby of your hotel and take you on a voyage of discovery through the city’s major sights and photo stops: the main street - Nevsky prospect, the beautiful Arts Square, St. Isaac’s Cathedral, Kazan Cathedral, Peter and Paul Fortress, the Mariinsky Theatre, The Palace Square.

Visit of Peter and Paul Fortress. Peter and Paul Fortress, the cradle of the city, enjoy the view of the soaring spire of cathedral, one of the city’s most iconic buildings.

The next stop is Saint Isaac's Cathedral. It is the largest orthodox basilica and the fourth largest cathedral in the world. It was built by Auguste de Monferran in 1812-1858. The floor, walls, arches and huge pillars of the interior are skillfully decorated with fourteen kinds of marble.

Lunch (optional). Your guide will help you to choose a lunch place.

The Hermitage, the largest museum in Russia and one of the most important and well-known museums of the world. The museum boasts 353 rooms, filled with masterpieces by Raphael, Titian, Giorgione, Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and others. The total number of pieces kept by the museum tallies to somewhere around 3 million. *You can also – at a push – see the General Staff Building (not included in the price) after visiting Hermitage, although we recommend doing it another day to fully enjoy it.

Your guide will accompany you to your hotel after a long and mesmerizing day.

Day 2 - Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood - Peterhof

Meeting with the guide.

This day you will visit the cathedral that architecturally differs from St. Petersburg's other structures- Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood. The decision was taken to build a church on the spot where the Emperor Alexander II was mortally wounded. It is a traditional Russian ecclesiastic design typical for Yaroslavl churches and St. Basil’s Cathedral in Moscow. Come and look at marvelous Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood! It is not to be missed. Peterhof Palace+Park. View some of St. Petersburg's most beautiful highlights and visit some of the previously ‘off-limits’ wonders of this historical city.

Visit Peter the Great's fabulous Summer Palace in Peterhof. Walk through the sumptuous interior of this great palace and out into the gardens to view the breathtaking fountains, designed in the 18th century by Peter the Great; return to St. Petersburg by hydrofoil (it may be canceled due to extreme weather conditions).

*Fountains in Peterhof are operating from May till October.
