Day 2 - City tour - New Holland Island - the Berhold Center

Meeting with guide in the hotel lobby

City-tour Can you describe Saint Petersburg in one word? Which word will it be? Grandeur? Gloomy? Strange? Or maybe mysterious? The truth is that it is impossible to describe St Petersburg in one word as well as it is hard to describe this city without losing some important points. That`s why it is better to see and feel this city by yourself. And one of the greatest ways of doing this is taking a city tour. On the board of a comfortable tourist bus you will experience unforgettable emotions as you will discover more and more about the glorious city of Peter the Great. You will immerse yourself in intriguing stories and have an opportunity to take beautiful pictures of the main architectural and historical sights of the city such as Nevsky Prospect, Kazan Cathedral, the Winter Palace, Vasilyevsky Island, St. Isaac`s Cathedral, the Peter and Paul Fortress, Senate Square and Palace Square.

Excursion to New Holland Island You are on island. New Holland is a man-made island that was built in 1719. Almost immediately, the construction of ship’s timber warehouses began, architectural projects changed three times, as a result of which the complex got its usual appearance only at the end of the 18th century. Throughout almost all history, the island has been closed for all visits. The newest history of New Holland began in 2011, when the island was first opened to the public. At the entrance, visitors are greeted by a large neon sign with the symbol of the island - a seagull. A seagull can be seen on many elements of the park: from sewer manholes to lampposts. Particular attention in the project is paid to the improvement and the greening of the territory over which the Dutch company worked. In European nurseries purchased more than 200 adult trees grown for transplantation using special technology. The main attraction for children is the Playground - a model of the skeleton of the frigate "Peter and Paul", made on a scale of 80% of the original. The New Holland Park hosts large sculptures, art objects and installations by artists from around the world.

Free time for lunch (1h)

Excursion to Berhold Center The Berthold Center is located in the buildings of the former Herman Bertholt foundry, a factory for the creation of typographic fonts for manual typing. Inside the restored pre-revolutionary building there are cafes, bars, shops, studios, and festivals and restaurant days are held in the courtyard. Berthold Centre is a multifunctional project created to popularize the creative business and develop the cultural aspect of the city. The project also makes a comfortable infrastructure for its residents. All of these factors coupled with a modern design make this place interesting to visit.

Day 3 - “Sevcable” Port - Stadium “Zenit Arena”

Breakfast in the hotel

Meeting with guide in the hotel lobby

Excursion to “Sevcable” Port Sevcable Port is a new place in the harbor of Vasilievsky Island, located very close to the Soviet building of the Marine Station. Previously, there was a cable factory famous throughout Russia: first, the manufactory of the Siemens & Halske trading house, founded in 1879, after the nationalization of 1918 - “Northern Cable Factory”, and then “Sevcable”. It was this company that first connected Petersburg to Moscow by telegraph network, by special order of the emperor, lit theaters, Nevsky Prospect and the Winter Palace with electricity and after the Revolution switched to "electrification of the whole country." The territory is a layering of industrial buildings of different times and styles: from the era of "Siemens and Halske" remained elegant red-brick buildings and even the ruins of the house of Mr. Siemens, from the Soviet period - a huge concrete building near the water. By the time the territory was renewed, everything was densely packed with old equipment and literally bombarded with huge coils on which the cable was wound. In September 2018, the territory officially opened for free access: a decorated wooden embankment appeared with a lawn, vertical and horizontal benches (vertical benches - the ironic "hello" of the St. Petersburg tradition to sunbathe, standing at the Peter and Paul Fortress), a long parapet, which is called the "longest bar counter", and views of the Gulf of Finland.

Free time for lunch (1h)

Excursion to Stadium “Zenit Arena” The construction of the stadium began in 2007. The facility was officially commissioned on December 29, 2016. Initially, it was announced that the construction of the stadium would cost 6.7 billion rubles, but subsequently this amount increased to 43 billion rubles (according to other sources, up to 50.8 billion rubles). At the moment, the stadium is the most expensive in Russia. • Accommodates 61,000 viewers. • «Zenit» moved to the new arena from "Petrovsky" in April, 2017. In the first match it won «Ural» with the score 2:0. • The arena hosted four matches of the Сonfederation Cup, including the final match. There took place seven games of the World Cup 2018. • The arena was built on Krestovsky island on the place of Kirov Stadium where Zenit carried out home games till the beginning of 90th. • The project was developed by Kisse Kurokawa. As envisioned by the Japanese architect, the arena resembles the spaceship which landed on the shore of the Gulf of Finland. • The nearest metro station "Krestovsky island" is located on a violet branch. It is easy to reach the center using this line. «Zenit» Football team «Zenit» is a permanent competitor for Moscow football clubs in a bid for the highest awards of the Russian soccer. After the collapse of the USSR St. Petersburg club won the championship of Russia four times. Hour of triumph of team fell at 2008 when it won the UEFA Cup and the European Super Cup. There is another St. Petersburg club «Dynamo» which is in the 2nd League. Transfer to the hotel. End of the program
